Micro-credit - Prevention of girl trafficking through the reduction of socio-economic vulnerability in rural communities. Over 70 (all female run) micro enterprises were formed in the areas of animal husbandry, vegetable farming, tailoring, candle, paper and felt making, beauty salons and food and beverage.

Peace Awareness

Nebbi, Lira, Busia and Tororo Districts, Uganda

Through a peace project sponsored by Rotary clubs in Uganda and USA, we worked with a local artist to promote the concept of peace through collaborative efforts in the districts of Nebbi, Lira, Busia, Tororo in Uganda.

Eco Kitchen Micro-Finance

India

Provide opportunities for female entrepreneurs (12 in total) in Chennai, India to operate their own food carts. They received training on food security, nutrition, business techniques, self-reliance, communication, accounting and general health.

Partnered with Rotary Club of Rio Guavas, Hogar de Cristo and Rotaract Club of Annapolis to build 6 homes for families living in slum areas just outside of Guayaquil and provided each family with a 1st Aid Kit.

In partnership with the Rotary Club of Quito Occidente, the Universidad Andina Simon Bolivar and Peruvian artist Tarmeño, we designed a visually alluring campaign to encourage children to read.

Contributed towards a gravity powered water treatment facility. A hygiene and sanitation component was included.

New Life Center - Housing and Generator

Provided housing rent and a new generator for disabled and helpless children at the New Life Center in Kathmandu, Nepal. Their goal is to provide a caring home environment with education, healthcare and the development of life skills for children with physical disabilities.

Partnered with Rotary Club Quito Occidente to fund the renovation of Rumiñahui School outside of Quito. Refurbished classrooms, kitchen, dining hall, windows and doors.

Construction of Library

Acted as coordinating organization for the Deng Malual Library and Education Center project. A land grant was awarded to Kindness in Action of the building of the library. In 2010, we transferred project and fundraising responsibilities to the John Dau Foundation.

Kindness Curriculum

The Kindness In Action founder, Rachael Blair, developed a kindness curriculum for elementary school children based on her book, Maya's Gossamer - A Gentle Guide on How to Manifest Virtues in Children.

Provided general dental, eye and health camps for the children of Miondoni School (grades K-8) and their nuclear families.

Sanctuary for Elderly Widows

Trichy, India

Provided secure housing and assisted living care (including food, clothing and medication) for 25 elderly widows and salaries for manager, cook and nurse.

Provided salaries for one teacher and one counselor in support of 85 students of Math, Science, English, History, Literature, Physical Education in Mumbai. Also provided daily supply of milk.

Furniture for isolated school

Mustang, Nepal

Provided benches and desks to the first school ever built in Ghiling. Ghiling village is the last forbidden kingdom of Nepal. It is in the heart of the remote upper Mustang region of Nepal. It takes 3 days from Jomsom to Ghiling by horse.
